Guiding Philosophy

With over 15 years in the healthcare sector, I’ve learned valuable lessons along the way that shape my philosophy and the foundations of 1619 Advisors.

  • Talking about why something can’t be done, is even cheaper.

Focus on a game plan, identify tangible actions and key partners, and deliver on solid execution.

  • Strong Relationships and collaboration are keys to success.

Governments, multinational organizations, patient groups and the broader health ecosystem need to work together to achieve their desired goals with all voices coming together.

  • Public affairs, healthcare and advocacy can have gray zones sometimes.

A commitment to ethics, compliance and integrity are paramount. Nothing is more important than your reputation.

  • Titles and positions shouldn't define how you treat others, or how you expect to be treated.

As Maya Angelou wisely said, "People may not remember what you said, but they will remember how you made them feel."

  • In global health, success hinges on strong networks. But forget who you know – it's about who knows you and is willing to collaborate. Invest time in cultivating genuine connections that will amplify your impact.

About Me

From Bihar to Brussels and beyond, global experiences have always shaped my worldview.

For over 15 years, I've cultivated an international career, living, working and traveling to over 55 countries across 5 continents. This rich exposure to diverse cultures, companies, and healthcare systems has equipped me with unique perspectives and expertise in tackling complex global health challenges in our ever-changing societies.

My experience spans Fortune 200 companies like Bristol Myers Squibb and Novo Nordisk, as well as pioneering firms like Biogen—America's first biotech—and LEO Pharma, Denmark's oldest healthcare company. I also held the first-ever position of leading global health equity efforts for a company across the industry while at BMS.

As a seasoned global health, advocacy and public affairs leader,  I deliver results. I've built departments from scratch, led international teams, and counseled CEOs. My ghostwriting has empowered global leaders, and my media training has equipped patients and caregivers to advocate for themselves.

I have driven business growth, improved patient access and elevated company reputation through strategic advocacy and communications by:

  • Establishing, growing and leading high-performing international public affairs and global health teams

  • Delivering tactical frameworks and direct engagement on advocacy, strategy development, lobbying, and partnerships

  • Amplifying company profiles and supporting business objectives including commercial launches

  • Providing strategic counsel as a trusted advisor to executive management on commercial, crisis, and external affairs matters

  • Serving as a spokesperson and company ambassador to government officials, media, and other external stakeholders

  • Creating new public affairs and health equity departments, defining strategies and leading cross-functional initiatives

Academic Passions

A lifelong learner, I have actively pursued knowledge both as a student and a professor. My educational journey includes undergraduate degrees from American University, followed by a Master of Public Affairs and Politics from Rutgers University, an MBA from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, as well as a Public Leadership Credential from Harvard's Kennedy School of Government and postgraduate studies at the University of Cambridge and London School of Economics and Political Science.

Combining my professional and academic experiences, I have ignited a passion for teaching the next generation of healthcare leaders.

As an adjunct Assistant Professor of Public Health, I played a key role in launching Fairleigh Dickinson University's online Master of Public Health program by designing and teaching multiple courses in the Health Policy track. Currently, I serve as a Lecturer of Global Health at Rutgers University's Bloustein School and as a guest lecturer on health equity at New York University’s Wagner School of Public Service and corporate sustainability at American University.
